Site Info
Pender Harbour Online is a network of three websites, and you’ll move between them seamlessly. Updates are ongoing and re-designs are regular —any great website is a work-in-progress.
- PenderHarbour.org - Online since June of 2000, non-commercial information about Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast of BC, Canada. Includes Area Info, Visitor Guide and a Message Board.
- PenderHarbour.com - The only comprehensive, all-inclusive Business Directory for the area. Other websites require membership or payment for listings; we don’t.
Policy
We do not put cookies on your hard drive. We do not sell, trade or otherwise distribute your e-mail address. We do not subscribe to third-party banner ad programs, pop-up promotions and other spammish advertising because it’s cheesy and we know you hate it as much as we do.
Paying the Bills
Our featured businesses and organizations help pay the overhead of Pender Harbour Online with banner ads and dedicated pages (regular listings are free). Please show your appreciation by supporting them, or with a word of thanks if you have the opportunity, because they make this site possible.
Donations of any amount, to help us keep up the good work and pay the bills, are gratefully accepted. You can be listed as a sponsor or remain anonymous.

Who Runs It?
All three Pender Harbour Online websites are published by the Pender Harbour Paper Mill —all grassroots, all locally owned and operated— in Pender Harbour, BC Canada. The Paper Mill was established in 1987.
Site designer and author of most of the content is Myrtle Winchester, a photojournalist and graphic designer who had her first article and photos published in 1974. She embraced the computer age, digital imaging and the World Wide Web, which added another medium of expression for her work.
Winchester has written numerous articles on Sunshine Coast nature, recreation, history and lifestyle. She started the Harbour Spiel in 1991 and published it for 15 years before turning over the reins to current owner Brian Lee.
She was born in northern New Brunswick, made her way across the country and was driven out of Vancouver by Expo 86. She came to Pender Harbour for a holiday, quickly fell in love with the community and never left.
Winchester’s personal offsite links: Facebook Page and My Dance with Cancer.
